The numerous turns of the river Rhine between the districts Kaiserswerth and Benrath give Duesseldorf a very unique light atmosphere. These natural reflections attracted painters of portraits and landscapes already in the early 17th century. Not only the establishing of the art academy of Duesseldorf but also the following worldwide recognition of Duesseldorf’s fashion and advertising branch were influenced by this phenomenon. The open-minded city is nowadays a metropolis of culture and economy with the pronounced inclination to connect beauty with usefulness. The new logo symbolizes lifestyle and location.
