Taipeh in Morp  

 

On the occasion of the »Euro Brand Workshops« of the Taiwan Design Center (TDC) a Taiwanese delegation visited the studio of Hesse Design in house Morp in Erkrath. This visit preceded a lecture of Christine Hesse about brand design at the Taipei Design Centre Düsseldorf. The participants of the workshops have been especially interested in European case studies about brand development and brand management. Content of the lecture and workshop has been the interrelation between strategy, process and output.

Hesse creates the new corporate design for Zapp 

 

In 1701 Herrmann Zapp has founded his first manufacturing production by acquiring a forging hammer north of Ründeroth. Nowadays the Zapp-group has production plants in Germany und the United States as well as representative offices in Europe and Asia. The medium-sized traditional company processes and deals with metallic semi-finished precision products, specialty materials and tool alloys. Customers of the automobile industry, medical applications, watch industry, automation technology and lots more benefits from the Zapp product range. Hesse Design came out ahead the pitch for a new corporate design. The new brand design will be launched at the beginning of next year.

2 times iF gold for Hesse Design 

 

Approximately 1000 guests have taken part at the award ceremony of the the iF Design Award 2005 at the opera of Hannover, that has been completely sold out. The Federal Minister for Education and Research, Edelgard Bulmahn, as well as the Minister for Science and Culture from Niedersachsen, Lutz Stratmann, have accompanied the ceremony where 30 iF gold awards have been assigned. Hesse Design has had the honour to ascend twice the podium to receive the prize by Bettina Cramer (moderator) and Ralph Wiegmann (General Manager iF). The International jury of iF-Design has awarded 2 times a prize in gold and 5 other awards to Hesse Design. Gold has been for the poster series »Erkrather Kriminacht« (crime night) and for the single entry »Bill Viola«. Furthermore the new corporate design of the event agency »Kogag«, the corporate design for the recruiter »Lost and found« as well as for the IT specialist »addmore« has been awarded. Also the posters »Grenzgänger« (border crosser) and »Young Directors Award« as well as the corporate brochure for Hasso von Blücher have been honored. 1200 works from 31 countries have been submitted at this year’s competition for the iF-trademark of excellent design.

Let’s do it! Let’s go! 

 

Hesse Design has had a double success at the Red Dot Award competition. The corporate design fort he recruiter »Lost and found« as well as the corporate brochure for Blücher has been awarded each with the label »high design quality«. Hasso von Blücher is the world’s major producer of protective clothing. He is not only businessman but also landlord of a castle, son of a general, student of Habermas and friend of muse. With the sales revenue of his protective clothing he is building up a centre of art and culture in Erkrath. The corporate brochure is his way to say thanks to Dr. Ernest de Ruiter for a long-lasting cooperation.

Robert Bosch Stiftung  

 

The Robert Bosch Stiftung is located in Stuttgart and is one of the largest institution for humanitarian commitment. Life and legacy of its founder Robert Bosch are the basis for all activities. The foundation, together with its partners, supports concepts and projects to enhance social and cultural progress and to prove their suitability for practice. Various well-known design studios have been asked to take part at a competition regarding the new corporate identity and design. Hesse Design has established itself by strategic and conceptual recommendations.

Seven iF design award 

 

The International jury of the iF design award competition has been taken with Hesse Design especially this year. Seven awards for corporate design, brochures and posters. Among others the corporate design for the event specialist and former market leader »Kogag«, the corporate design for the recruiter »lostandfound« as well as for the IT specialist »addmore« has been awarded. Furthermore the posters »Bill Viola«, »Grenzgänger« (border crosser), »Erkrather Kriminacht« (crime night) and »Young Directors Award« have been honored. Last but not least the corporate brochure for Hasso von Blücher has been finalist for gold and silver.

New Corporate Design for Vitus 

 

Vitus administrates approx. 31,000 apartments especially in Mönchengladbach, Kiel, Bremen and Wuppertal. The company is based in Mönchengladbach and is a subsidiary company of the Blackstone Group. The patron saint of churches and towns in Europe lent his name to the company.

Design award 2006 of the  

Federal Republic of Germany 

 

Two works of Hesse Design have been proposed for the design award 2006 of the Federal Republic of Germany. The Rat für Formgebung (council for shape forming) is in charge with the organization of the award ceremony. This award is assigned by the Federal Minister for Economy and Labor as official design award of the Federal Republic of Germany. Outstanding product design as well as communication design is honoured by this award that takes design, technical innovation, usability and sustainability into account. The alternative corporate design for the football world championship 2006 and the poster series »Salon Digital« have been proposed for the award.

Messe Stuttgart presents its new  

corporate design  

 

Since September 2004 the implementation of a new brand design and marketing concept is in preparation. Until the new exhibition halls at the airport of Stuttgart open their doors in April 2007, the new architecture and the great public transport system should be advertised. During a press conference at the congress centre of Stuttgart the new corporate design and the upcoming advertising concept have been presented by Ulrich Kromer (General Manager Messe Stuttgart), Martin Pross (General Manager Scholz & Friends Berlin) and Prof. Klaus Hesse.

ADC assigns an award for the logotype »Lost and Found«  

 

»Lost and Found« is a recruiting and consultancy agency specialised in hotel business, tourism industry and sub-contractors. Its clients are well-known hotel companies, tourism organizations and service provider in the sector of travel trade. Hesse Design has developed a new naming and brand design in 2004 due to the merger of the well-established service provider. During the last jury session the Art Directors Club for Germany has been convinced by the quality of this work and has assigned an award at the category corporate design. Furthermore Hesse Design has got two more prizes for the posters »8. Erkrather Kriminacht« (8th crime night) und »Bill Viola«.

Hesse designs the Kieler Woche 2006  

 

The »Kieler Woche« is the world’s biggest sailing event. At the same time it is the occasion for the biggest summer party of northern Europe and accompanying cultural events. The dimension of this supporting programme makes the sporting competition a minor matter. The »Kieler Woche« is also organizing one of the long established and renowned international graphic competitions. Since 1948 famous and young-blood designers dedicate to the creation of the „Kieler Woche« corporate design. The design of prof. Klaus Hesse has won this year’s competition for the »Kieler Woche« of 17th to 25th of June 2006. The jury’s laudation and explanation: »This concept sets the sailing event to the fore and convinces by its excellent linear graphic design of all boat categories. The subtle color composing communicates aspects such as elegance and festival feeling – next to the sportive character.« The jury was set together by the council of Kiel and consisted of Prof. Hans Günter Schmitz, University of Wuppertal (winner in 1992 and permanent member of the jury), Gerd Baumann, Schwäbisch Gmünd (winner in 1995 and permanent member of the jury), Prof. Detlef Fiedler from the Academy of art Leipzig (winner in 2005), Christian Riediger (director of the Kieler-Woche-office), Sven Christensen (manager Point of Sailing Marketing GmbH), Rainer Kraatz (chairperson of the Kieler Woche association) and Rainer Tschorn (member of the board of the Kieler Woche Marketing GmbH).

Hesse has success in Korea. 

 

Receiving 6 awards Hesse Design has been the most successful design studio worldwide at the 2nd Korea International Poster Biennale. Among others the poster series »Erkrather Kriminacht« (crime night), »Young Directors Award« and »Salon Digital« have been awarded. Designers and design studios from 44 countries have taken part, about 2000 posters with cultural, political and advertising background have been submitted. 292 have been awarded and are presented at the Korea Design Center in Seongnam City until 31 January 2005.

Viola-poster at the Type Directors Club of New York 

 

Again the International jury of the Type Directors Club of New York has awarded a work of Hesse Design. 2500 works from 38 countries have been submitted. 220 works have been selected for an award. The advertising poster for the doyen of video art has been developed by Hesse Design for the Museum of Modern Art in Frankfurt/Main.
